Arrival and departure

Arrival, departure, and pre- and post-camp!

Arrival and check-in

The staff period starts for most people on 22 July. When you arrive at the campsite, you will check in at the designated location. There you will be welcomed and receive practical information, such as where you can pitch your tent. Dinner on the evening of 22 July is the first shared meal for staff members arriving at the campsite that day. It will be served between 17:00 and 20:00 in the staff dining hall.

It is important that you have stated in your registration which dates you will be at the camp.

Departure

3 August is the last day for staff members who are not taking part in the post-camp. Breakfast is the final shared meal for staff members who are leaving the camp that day. If, as a staff member, you have stated in your registration that you will be leaving earlier, the date you entered as your last day in the registration will be your departure date.

Pre- and post-camp

This information is intended for those of you who have registered to take part in the pre‑camp and/or post‑camp. The pre‑camp period is the time before 22 July, and the post‑camp period is the time after 3 August.

When you arrive at the campsite, you check in at the designated check‑in area. There you will be welcomed and given practical information, for example where you can set up your tent.

During the pre‑camp and post‑camp, you will be part of a work group/patrol led by a team leader. Every morning there is a joint gathering where the day’s work tasks are assigned. The working day during pre‑camp and post‑camp runs approximately from 8:00 am to 5:30 pm, with breaks for lunch and fika. In the evenings, there is a social get‑together for those who wish to join.

If you need to take a day off during the pre‑camp or post‑camp, you must inform your team leader in advance. It is recommended that you do not stay at the campsite while you are off, as it is considered a workplace during the pre‑camp and post‑camp periods.

Equipment during pre‑camp and post‑camp

You need sturdy shoes suitable for walking and working in, preferably with steel toe caps if you have them. You also need work clothes or durable clothing that you don’t mind getting dirty, and preferably gloves. Helmets and gloves are available to borrow if needed.
