Camp area

For Jamboree26, your scout group will need to bring most of the equipment you’ll be using during the week. This includes everything from tents to sleep in, axes, saws, tarpaulins and more. Here you will find practical information on how things will work at the campsite and how this affects your group’s packing.

First aid kit

For treating minor injuries in your village, your group will need to bring your own basic first-aid kit. First-aid equipment for more serious injuries will be available on site at Jamboree26.

Pioneering Poles

Each village will be able to collect poles equal to the number of participants.

Propane

A group is only allowed to store up to 60 liters (Equivalent to two P11 cylinders) of propane in their village due to safety regulations.

It will be possible to rent propane, meaning that you can exchange empty cylinders for full ones for a fee.

Open fire

In recent years, there have often been fire bans in Skåne during August. During a fire ban, cooking is only permitted using gas. If there is no fire ban, open fires are permitted at the campsite. If you wish to have an open fire, you must comply with all safety distance requirements (at least 8 metres from the nearest tent). The campsite does not provide any firewood.

Equipment list for safety

Each group must bring the following equipment;

  • 2 fire extinguishers, minimum 6 kg (foam or powder)
  • Red battery lamp to mark extinguishers at night
  • At least 1 fire blanket to place in the cooking area
  • At least one laminated sign to mark out the storage location of propane
  • A measuring tape or rope of 4 meters, with a mark at 3 meters to measure safety distances while building your camp.

Toilets and showers

Toilets

Toilets will be placed throughout the campsite, including both waterless portable toilets and vacuum flush toilets, as well as urinals and accessible toilets.

Showers

Trailers with private shower stalls will be available.

Drinking water

There will be numerous water points located at the campsite. Do not let your water container/bottle touch the tap or hose; this is important to prevent the spread of bacteria.

Greywater

It is not permitted to pour out greywater or bury any food waste at the campsite. Therefore, food waste must be strained, placed in bags, and brought to the recycle station. Greywater must be collected in containers which can be emptied in designated tanks. Your group must bring a strainer and containers for collecting greywater.

Recycling

Recycling is very important in Sweden and an absolute must-do. To manage this your group needs to bring containers to be able to separate the waste correctly at your village and then transport it to our recycle station. At the recycling station you will find our recycling heroes who will be there to assist.

Containers for the following material is needed;

  • Plastic packages
  • Paper packages
  • Wellpapp (cardboard?)
  • Metal packages
  • Colored glass
  • Clear glass
  • Food waste
  • Residual waste

Alcohol and drug policy

Please note we do not allow the use of alcohol or drugs. This applies to everyone on Jamboree26, including all international participants, leaders and staff.

Listening Ears

To ensure everyone’s safety at the camp, Listening Ears are on hand. If you feel uncomfortable at the camp, you can go to their tent to speak to them.
